Market share


This is the percent of sales that a given product represents of a given product hierarchy level.


Also known more simply as “share”, this is the percent of sales that a given product represents of a given product hierarchy level. Share is typically measured as an item or brands share of a category. Market Share = focus product sales / product hierarchy sales. For example, the market share of Private Label Soda would be measured as Private Label Soda sales divided by all Soda sales.
