Nielsen Developer Studio (NDS)
To serve the changing needs of your organization, you need to make data accessible and adaptable, quickly. Whether it is scaled CPS deliveries like Shoppervision or weekly AOS extracts from RMS. We fully support extracting content from our data lake both on a recurring scheduled basis as well as for ad hoc analyses.
NDS Extracts
Our extract capabilities are delivered via a self-service web-based application wih an intuitive data selector so that you can fully define the content, the frequency of delivery, the desired output format (flatfiles and start schema) and the delivery location. Extracts can be scheduled for delivery at certain set intervals, such as every Monday morning at 8 AM, in order to support your internal processes. Or, extracts can be scheduled to be run as soon as content is available, meaning your extracts are run as data is refreshed. Your extracts can be hosted on a Nielsen MFT server or you can post the file to a server at P&G. There are no size limitations for extracts and there are a range of size options to optimize delivery.
NDS APIs
Nielsen has an API portal to access content from our data lake programmatically. These are a set of restful services that return data in JSON format. The suite of APIs is constantly growing as we add more content to our data lake, but includes access to P&G’s custom RMS datasets, Total Store, Panel and Reference Data. The majority of these APIs are designed for synchronous consumption to build applications or populate smaller reports. We also include APIs to manage extract jobs through an asynchronous process.
